    Jr. Pony Club is an introductory horse program for children ages 4 to 7 and a parent. One parent must accompany each child for the whole program. This program is designed to introduce both parent and child to the Pony Club world of horses.

 Jr. Pony Club is an introductory horse program for children ages 4 to 7 and a parent. One parent must accompany each child for the whole program. This program is designed to introduce both parent and child to the Pony Club world of horses.

What can a child and parent expect from Jr. Pony Club?

1.        Jr. PC is a 12 lesson program designed to introduce the basics of horse care and management to young children.

2.      You don’t need the pony, we will provide friendly horses and ponies.  This is an un-mounted introduction to horses and their care, however it is a hands on program. 

3.      Jr. PC will meet at Poway Valley Rider’s Association. Children will have the opportunity to groom ponies, lead ponies, feed ponies, handle tack, and meet and learn from older Pony Club members from Poway Valley Pony Club.

What are the requirements?

1.      4 to 7 year old child with a parent who want to learn about and be safely around ponies and horses.

2.    Must join United States Pony Club and So Cal Region ($125) www.ponyclub.org 3.      USPC is an organization that relies heavily on parent volunteers. Parents will be asked to provide snacks and materials as well as helping with the organization of some activities. 

Where does Jr. Pony Club Meet?

Junior Pony Club will meet at Poway Valley Rider’s Association: 14336 Tierra Bonita Road, Poway, CA 92064. Informational Meeting, Saturday, April 4, at 2:00pm at the PVRA grounds. Optional field trip to pony ride at end of program.
